Discharge certificate of James Conlon, a Columbia, Wis. native who served with Company B of the Fifth Wisconsin Infantry during the Civil War. The discharge certifies that Conlon was discharged in 1863 due to a disability. Accompanying the certificate is a letter from Conlon's daughter, Mrs. Frederick C. Boller, discussing her father's life and military service. Also included in the collection is a photograph of Conlon in civilian clothing.
